Due Diligence (Scott Erickson) - Opening for Ludacris and T-Pain, August 13th
Due Diligence is a fictional character, and in his mind, he is creating new music for the integrity generation. This music is changing the world and making it a better place, starting with his first release, $afety EP which was released in May of this year. Check it out at www.safetyep.com. It is half Eminem, half Stephen Colbert and full-on, in-your-face entertainment with a positive message. Look for him to hit the stage, just before T-Pain and Ludacris, at Rock the Rapids on August 13th. He'll be joined on stage with collaborators from his Freshman EP: Minor State, Travis Piccard, Liz, and Jesse Fick.
Rock the Rapids presented by West Side Beer Distributing, the original six-day music and entertainment festival in downtown Grand Rapids, is bringing in various music genres for the week of August 8th - 13th. The "Grand Rapids Toyota" headliners, as well as openers, include several styles of music, including jam band, rock, country, classic rock, blues and hip hop/rap. "We are thrilled to bring so many different types of music to Grand Rapids for this event," says Rock the Rapids founder, Denny Baxter. The festival will be located in parking lot 4 in downtown Grand Rapids, which is located between Oakes and Cherry Street, just south of the Van Andel Arena.
In previous years, Rock the Rapids began as a two-day festival in 2009 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park and expanded to a three-day event in 2010. Past performers have included Sammy Hagar, Flo-Rida, Jason Aldean, Sean Kingston, Bret Michaels and B.o.B. It also hosted young phenomenon Justin Bieber who at the time was just on the cusp of his popularity explosion. Over 20,000 concert-goers attended the three-day event in 2010.
